SOV - 5N63 / 5N63S ("Flap Lid A" / "Flap Lid B")

Veliteľské stanovište a rádiolokátor 30N6
5N63/5N63S - command post of the anti-aircraft missile complex 90Ž6 (90Ж6) of the S-300P system.
It is used to provide tracking and targeting of aerial targets and subsequent guidance of 5V55 and 48N6 anti-aircraft missiles to the target.

The command post consists of a Radiolocator of Illumination and Guidance - Radiolocator of Illumination and Guidance - RPN of the 30N6 type series and a combat control booth] (кабина боевого управления (КБУ)).

The 30N6 command post radar receives data from 3D long-range surveillance radars during combat operations, but can also operate in surveillance radar mode in the case of decentralized fire control. The role of this means is to ensure target interception and tracking, target identification, launcher selection and self-guidance of anti-aircraft missiles. Based on the coordinates and movement parameters of the tracked targets, the combat control cabin automatically determines the priority of their shooting and calculates the moment of launching the missiles. The firing authorisation is given by the fire element commander, only in the case of firing a salvo of 2 missiles at one target the second missile is fired automatically. The RPN intercepts and tracks the fired missiles and irradiates the target to enable the homing warheads and their radio igniters to operate.

The 5N63 is the command post and target irradiation and missile guidance radar of the S-300PT anti-aircraft missile system. The command post is located on several trailers towed by tractor-trailers Ural 375, KrAZ 255, or KrAZ 260.
Composition:
- F1 container (RPN 30N6 radar)
- container F2 (combat control cabin)

Container F1 contains the 30N6 target irradiation and missile guidance radar (RPN), receive, transmit and recognition blocks. A radar antenna is mounted on the container. The entire container can be placed on a lifting platform 40V6 (40V6M) for better detection of low-flying targets.
The F2 container includes a battle management unit (BMU) cockpit and support systems.

The 5N63S command post of the S-300PS anti-aircraft missile system (and derivative types).
The radar is mounted on an F20 chassis based on a heavy off-road truck MAZ-543M.
Composition:
- F1S container
- F2K container

The F1S container contains the 30N6 target irradiation and missile guidance radar (RPN), reception, transmission and recognition blocks. A radar antenna is mounted on the container. The entire container can rotate relative to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, allowing the antenna to be pointed in the required direction. The entire container can be placed on a lifting platform 40V6M (40V6MD) for better detection of low-flying targets.
The F2K container includes a battle management unit (BMU) cockpit and support systems.
The chassis also houses the 5S17 (5S18A) electrical power systems (two gas turbines), a telescopic antenna system to provide communications with the superior command post, and an automated command system.
The design of the landing gear allows to conduct combat operations immediately after stopping after the hydraulic supports are deployed without further preparation, while the necessary pre-alignment is calculated automatically by a special block in the F1S container. Cable connections to other system components and to the central electrical supply can be established later.

During the development of the S-300P system, the 30N6 command post 5N63/5N63S radiolocator was gradually upgraded to the 5N63/5N63S command post:
30N6E target illumination and guidance radar of the S-300PMU anti-aircraft missile system (export version S-300PS)

30N6E1 - target irradiation and missile guidance radar - anti-aircraft missile system S-300PM. In export versions S-300PMU-1, this radar is also referred to as 36N85

Upon arrival at the site, the command post is 5N63/5N63S and the 30N6 radar is able to commence combat operations within 5 minutes.

Description of the 30N6 radar series:
The 30N6 flat-phase antenna radars provide target acquisition or target tracking after data is sent via automated command systems, target tracking and missile guidance to targets with high accuracy even in conditions of strong passive and active jamming.

The 30N6 radars operate with frequency in the I/J band (8-20 GHz). They are multifunctional mono-pulse 3D shooting radars. The radar is capable of simultaneously tracking 12 targets, having 6 targets locked on, and homing two missiles on each target simultaneously (max 12 total). The radar uses a flat phase antenna with electronic beam deflection. The radar can track a 90° wide sector (5N63 - 60°) without changing the antenna position.
The radar achieves high resolutions and has good immunity to passive and active interference.

In the S-300P system, the S-300P at the firing battery and squad level, the radars cooperate with the 36D6 overview 3D radar(S-300PT - radar 5N64S) (in NATO code "Tin Shield", or with a radar for detecting low-flying targets (56N6, (the export version has the designation [76N6]), in NATO code "Shell"). To improve the ability to track and guide missiles to low-flying targets, or when operating in areas with rough terrain, the radar antenna system can be placed on a 40V6 (40V6M, 40V6MD) lifting device to an altitude of 25-39 m. The modified 30N6E (30N6E1) radar can work directly with the automated command system of the anti-aircraft detachment (command post) 83M6E and the automated command system of the anti-aircraft brigade Baikal, or Senezh, as the case may be. The 30N6E radar has improved characteristics to enable the interception and guidance of missiles on ballistic targets.

Target discovery and interception is performed automatically in different beam modes of operation. Low-altitude (1° vertical x 90° horizontal), medium-altitude and high-altitude (5° (13°) vertical x 64° horizontal), or ballistic target acquisition (10° vertical x 32° horizontal) target acquisition modes are used to locate the target, and a tracking mode with a 2° x 2° or 4° x 4° beam size is used to automatically acquire and track the target after the target is intercepted or indicated. When conducting combat operations in strong radioelectronic interference, a manual target search, intercept and tracking mode may also be used.
